Respect For Toronto Arts Council And Toronto Arts Foundation Staff

Toronto Arts Council and Toronto Arts Foundation staff are here to help by providing feedback, information and support for grants, awards and programs.

Granting and awards programs are competitive and we understand that it can be very disappointing when grant applications or award nominations are not successful. Please recognize that individual staff members as well as peer assessors are not personally responsible for decisions, and are doing their best to assist and support all applicants and nominees.

We care about the mental and physical well-being of our staff and expect every person interacting with them to treat them with respect. Raised voices, vulgar or aggressive language, negative comments regarding professional expertise or personal character, or any other type of threat is not acceptable.

Staff are instructed to provide a warning to anyone interacting with them in a disrespectful way and then to disengage if the behaviour continues. Staff will also document the encounter in case further action is required.

Anyone with questions or concerns about this policy is encouraged to contact us.

Feedback

Toronto Arts Council welcomes all feedback about its programs and service delivery. Your comments may lead to improved services, so if you have a suggestion, please let us know.

Accessibility Compliance

Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, organizations must make their accessibility compliance reports available to the public.

Land Acknowledgement

Toronto Arts Council respectfully acknowledges the diversity of Indigenous Cultures and their connection to the Natural World we are privileged to share.  We honour the Wendat, the Anishinaabeg Peoples, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, most recently the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and others who have walked this land or paddled these waters. We are grateful to the Ancestors and Elders of their Peoples and to their descendants who live and work with us on the back of the Great Turtle.
